Bernie the Bernese Mountain Dog Pays a Visit to the JEMS/PennWell Staff

Bernie the Bernese Mountain Dog visited the JEMS/PennWell offices recently with his owner and trainer A.J. Heightman, Editor-in-Chief of JEMS. Bernie visited the PennWell Offices in La Jolla on his way to the San Diego (La Jolla) Veterans Hospital where he is part of a Therapy Dog Team to comfort and support our military veterans. Bernie has completed all his training and certifications to serve as a Therapy Animal and is now two-years old and weighs in at 140 lbs. Bernie is a popular fixture at JEMS and throughout San Diego County as he visits hospitals and emergency scenes with his “Dad”.
