Most of us would rather carry four patients down a set of stairs than one patient up the stairs. ItÌs easier with gravity on your side. The same holds true for changing the main oxygen bottle in your ambulance. A full steel "H" cylinder weighs 117 lbs. and an "M" weighs 58 lbs. Trying to lift and maneuver these cylinders into the tight confines of the main oxygen compartment with proper body mechanics would confound a physical therapist. TheOxygen Bottle Cart fromZicoprovides a motor to do all the hard work for you. Just strap the cylinder onto the lift, then flip the switch to raise the cylinder into the compartment. Next, secure the bottle in the ambulance, loosen the strap and remove the lift.
