Smiths Medical Pneupac VR1

Fran Hildwine, BS, NREMT-P, CCEMT-P | | Thursday, September 25, 2008

Patients being moved on transport ventilators don't always need 100% oxygen. Too much oxygen can exacerbate certain conditions and make weaning difficult for some patients. The new Pneupac VR1 from Smiths Medical features an air-mix switch that delivers either 50% or 100% oxygen. A single knob adjusts tidal volume and ventilatory frequency, and a pressure alarm can be factory-set for 40 or 60 cm/H2O.
