The need for EMS personnel to rapidly remove patients' clothes makes for some interesting calls (and an occasional "near miss"). When garment workers need to cut fabric efficiently, they don't use scissors; they use a rotary cutting wheel. ES Equipment of Sweden has based their latest product on this concept, offering rescuers the S-CUT. It's designed to be quickly pulled through clothing as the circular cutting blade safely shreds the fabric. The S-CUT is available in a compact size that can be easily carried on your duty belt and a larger version that can be used when wearing heavy extrication gloves.
