Paramedics Plus Headquarters Grand Opening Event

New Paramedics Company Becomes Alameda County’s 911 Ambulance Provider

Next month, Paramedics Plus will become the new ambulance provider for Alameda County. In anticipation, Paramedics Plus will be holding its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the company’s local headquarters this Thursday, October 27th, 2011 at 4:30 pm.

Elected officials and other members of the community will join employees and first responder crews of Paramedics Plus to celebrate the company’s grand opening at its San Leandro headquarters, where they will unveil their new fleet of 57 biodiesel ambulances, demonstrate new technologies and give a tour of their state-of-the-art facility.

Recently Alameda Countyawarded a five-year contract to a seasoned paramedic company, Paramedics Plus. On November 1, 2011, Paramedics Plus will become the new ambulance provider in Alameda County. Paramedics Plus is highly qualified, having served 911 systems in Pinellas County Florida, Tulsa/Oklahoma City, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. A majority of the 375 full-time and part-time employees staffing Alameda County ambulances will be former employees of American Medical Response, the paramedics company currently serving Alameda County.

Paramedics Plus has worked with Alameda County over the last 18 months to prepare to take over EMS services and ensure a smooth transition. The organization has committed resources and new technologies to improve emergency response service throughout the County. Additionally, Paramedics Plus will be capping their profits and bringing a new rate structure that will save County residents more than $20 million over the next five years.
