Broomfield, Colo. -- ZOLL Medical Corporation (Nasdaq: ZOLL), a manufacturer of resuscitation devices and related software solutions, today announced it will showcase several new technologies designed to help professional rescuers streamline operations and improve survival from sudden cardiac arrest and myocardial infarction, commonly known as heart attack.

These advanced new products will be showcased at the ZOLL Summit, an annual conference for EMS and fire professionals to learn from industry leaders, discover new innovations, and network with peers. The theme of this year’s Summit is “Ascend to Leadership.” The Summit is being held May 10-13 in Denver.   More than 714attendees and 41 sponsors/exhibitors have made this year’s meeting a record for attendance and participation.

New technologies being showcased include:

iPad® Application for Electronic Patient Care Reporting

The ZOLL RescueNet® ePCR for iPad app provides EMS organizations with the ability to create electronic patient care reports (ePCRs) to simplify data collection and improve access to information.  This critical data capture functionality offers time-stamping, auto calculations of age and mileage, auto-populated narrative for an easier SOAP (subjective objective assessment and plan), and one-tap access to all data input screens. It also allows multi-agency login support, stylus-free signature capabilities, and the flagging of incomplete sections. The app brings intuitive, electronic iPad access to the patient care reporting process.

RescueNet Road Safety: Keeping Lifesavers Safer

The RescueNet Road Safety Driving System for emergency vehicles combines emergency vehicle driver monitoring with real-time feedback to help improve the safety level of vehicle operations for EMS personnel, onboard patients, and the public-at-large. The system also provides data analysis and driver performance reporting, resulting in measurable reductions in operating and maintenance costs for the vehicles.

RescueNet 12-Lead: Web Browser-Based System

The new RescueNet 12-Lead is the first web browser-based system that allows access from any computing device with Internet capability—no dedicated hardware or proprietary software is required. RescueNet 12-Lead will also accept transmissions for multiple monitor/defibrillators, at no additional cost to EMS agencies.

Data Comm: Rapid, Automatic Data Upload

ZOLL is also introducing the new Data Comm WiFI/computer module.  Data Comm offers the fastest resuscitation data upload speed available—as much as 12 times faster than BluetoothTM. Data Comm is also the pathway through which data will stream in real-time to RescueNet Link*, a more comprehensive Web browser-based information sharing system that is currently in controlled field evaluations.

“These new groundbreaking technologies will help our customers improve operations and make better decisions based on immediate access to critical data,” said David Brown, President, Data Management Products, ZOLL. We further believe that such innovation is only possible from a company that has dedicated teams of people focused on both cardiac resuscitation device and data products, allowing us to take a truly integrated approach.”

Summit is held yearly to bring together users and prospective users of ZOLL products, especially those focused on data.  It includes tracks for executives, fire records, billing, clinical, IT, rescue management dispatch, and ePCR. Industry experts and leaders conduct the nearly 150 separate educational sessions over the four day meeting.
