Chantilly, VA – First Line Technology, LLC announced this week that the company’s president, Amit Kapoor, was named one of the Washington Business Journal’s top 40 Under 40 business leaders of 2011. The 2nd annual 40 Under 40 Awards celebrates 40 young business people and entrepreneurs who exemplify leadership and have shown exceptional performance within their companies throughout the last 12 to 18.

Kapoor, one of the founders of First Line Technology when the company began in 2003, was selected for the first time this year for his dedication to and leadership within First Line Technology, an ISO 9001:2008-certified manufacturer and supplier of Out of the Box Solutions for first responders and the military. The top 40 Under 40 were announced in early September and each of the 40 will be profiled in a special supplement of the October 28th edition of the Washington Business Journal, as well as online at www.wbj40under40.com.

In Kapoor’s nomination, an employee touted the company president’s ability to manage business needs with the needs of the community.

“Not only does Mr. Kapoor work to support America’s servicemen and women, government services, and local municipalities, he knows what people need (homeland security, protection from WMDs, and environmentally friendly products, for example) and he seamlessly integrates those needs into usable end-products that each have a dedicated function,” wrote the employee, who was not named. “Mr. Kapoor is a hard worker, a dedicated citizen, and a compassionate member of the global community.”

According to the Washington Business Journal’s website, the 40 Under 40 honorees are some of the regions “brightest young business leaders”

and are “changing the world, one endeavor at a time, taking the reign of companies and our communities … and texting and Twittering their way to success.”

Kapoor said humbly that he was excited to be listed among so many great business leaders, entrepreneurs, and activists.

“I want to thank the Washington Business Journal,” he said. “I was honored to be named one of this year’s 40 Under 40, especially knowing the quality of the corporations and business people in the D.C. area. It means a great deal to me to be in a class of honorees that have made such a difference in the business world at our young age.”

In the last 18 months at First Line Technology, Kapoor has continued to grow the company even in this time of worldwide financial insecurity.

Since October 2009, First Line has nearly doubled the size of its staff, showing 20% growth in just the last 6 months. Although First Line remains a small company with fewer than 10 employees, this rate of grown shows that Kapoor and First Line are accomplishing major growth in a time of economic hardship, as evidenced by the successful branding of three of First Line’s top products: PhaseCore®, AmBubus™, and Fibertect®.

Kapoor and the other 39 honorees will be publicly recognized by the Washington Business Journal on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at Lucky Strike, Washington, D.C. The event is open to friends, family, colleagues and peers of the honorees and registration, as well as more information about the event and the 40 Under 40 program, is available at http://www.wbj40under40.com. In addition, the public is invited to vote on the “Reader’s Choice Award.” Vote for Amit Kapoor HERE or on the Washington Business Journal or First Line Technology websites.
