Three Drowned in SC Pool

| Tuesday, June 30, 2009

EASLEY, S.C. - An 8-year-old child and two adults have drowned in a swimming pool at a home in northwestern South Carolina.

The bodies of the boy and his aunt and uncle were reportedly discovered in an Easley pool Monday afternoon.

Assistant Pickens County Sheriff Tim Morgan says investigators think the boy was struggling and the adults tried to save him while their 7-year-old son watched. Morgan says deputies don't think any of the victims knew how to swim.

Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley says the man was an employee of a business located at the property and had permission to use the pool. Authorities say someone who lives at the property returned home, found the bodies and called 911.

Morgan says authorities don't suspect foul play.
