Giant Steps: Former N.Y. Giant Walks Across America to Raise Money for 9/11 Rescue Workers

George Martin, the 54-year-old former N.Y. Giants defensive end is walking across America to raise a minimum of $10 million to help provide medical care for the surviving rescue and recovery workers who rushed to Ground Zero after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center in Manhattan.

Alabama F.D. Joins Heart Attack Study

The Pelham (Ala.) Fire Department is set to become the second department in the nation to join in a study that seeks to improve the care heart attack patients receive prior to arriving at a hospital. Pelham will be the first of 10 local agencies to take part in the study.
